About the Bible

The Bible is God's Word to all people. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs. Because it is “breathed out” by God, it is truth without error. It is a “living word”, and is entirely relevant to our daily lives.

First Term of Membership of the RPCI:

About God

God has eternally existed as One Living God in Three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equals, co-eternal Persons of the Godhead. God is all-powerful, everywhere-present, in control of all things. God the Father sent God the Son into this world. God the Son was born as a man, lived without sin, died for the sin of His people on the cross, and rose again three days later. God the Holy Spirit, also eternal, works in the hearts of God’s people, convicting them of sin, helping them to grow in grace, and equipping them to serve the church and wider world.

Second Term of Membership of the RPCI:

I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the only Redeemer of men, supreme in church and state, and in dependence on Divine grace I take him as my Saviour and Lord.

Isaiah 9:6,    Matthew 1:21-23,    John 1:1-5; 14:10-30,    Acts 1:9-11,    Romans 1:3-4,    1 Corinthians 15:3-4,    1 Timothy 6:14-15,    Titus 2:13,    brews 4:14-15

About Human Beings

Men and women are created in God’s image – that is, we are made for relationship with God and one another. Tragically, our sin – our wilful disobedience of God – has ruined that relationship. It has even had an impact upon the created world around us. All of this explains why both human beings and the natural world are prone to corruption, decay, danger and death. Only repentance – turning away from sin – and trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross can save us from our sins. We believe that when Jesus returns to judge the world, he will also renew and refresh the creation around us.

Genesis 1:27,    Psalm 8:3-6,    Isaiah 53:6a; 59:1-2,    Romans 3:23

About the Church

“The Church as she exists on earth is not a building or a denomination, but is the assembly of the covenant people of God. She consists of men and women called by God the Father into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ. Wherever such people meet in Jesus’ name, there is the Church of God.”               R.P.C.I. Testimony, chapter 5, page 31.
